Beware of Student Loan Consolidation Companies - What You Should Know

With today's economy being in the shape that it's in more and more people find the need to use students loans to help fund their college education. This makes the need for student loan consolidation companies more abundant. Consolidating your loans can be a good decision when it comes to managing finances; however, it's extremely important to thoroughly check out different companies before you decide which one to go with.

Now all student loan consolidation companies are not created alike so be careful when you're making your decision on which company to choose. Do your homework. Compare each company, read the fine print and make your decision based on which company will benefit you most. Pay special attention to things like loan interest rates. What do you need when it comes to interest rates and what does the company offer? Are you looking for a company that offers variable interest rates in order to cash in on super low early interest rates or is a fixed interest better to suit your needs? Do you need to know exactly what you payment will be each month? If so you may want to go the fixed interest rate route.

Another thing to take into consideration when choosing between student loan consolidation companies is the fees that are charged? Are there loan application fees? Do they charge extra penalty fees for late payments? Are there any hidden fees in the fine print? Choosing the right consolidation company can be tricky if you're not prepared. Always have a list of things that are important to you and choose the company that closely matches your needs.

Left Handed Scholarships Are Few and Far Between

With the economy as tight as it is and people getting laid off by the thousands on a daily basis everyone wants to improve their chances of landing a great job. Advanced degrees in any field of work increases your chances of getting or keeping a job in today's environment. Paying for these advanced degrees can be tough and that's where scholarships or grants can play a big roll in your career and pocket book.

I must admit that there are not a lot of scholarships or grants specifically for left handed people. However, with the help of the internet, narrowing your search down to scholarships that relate specifically to your unique abilities and interests can only be a few clicks away. Now I warn you that some websites guarantee scholarships if you pay them to search for you , but these can be a bit questionable. I have found several free services (paid by ad sponsors, colleges, etc.) that can greatly help you in your search for extra money for college or degree. I personally use these for my on going search for financial aid for my two daughters that will be leaving the nest in only a few short years. The sites that I recommend have been around for many years and are very trustworthy. I encourage you sign up for one or increase your chances and sign up for all of them.

(TIP: create a separate email account (example: johndoe_scholarships@gmail.com) to keep scholarship offers organized in one place and out of your normal email account.)

So, don't waist anymore time and go to my website and check out what resources are available for you. (I update my site frequently as I find more and or better resources to share with my loyal readers!) Your dream job is out there if you are willing to go get it. Good Luck!

Government Grants - There's No Free Lunch

You and I and millions of other individuals have seen the TV infomercials and Online Ads telling you how the Government has billions of dollars in Free Money just waiting to be given away to you.

All you have to do is submit a grant application and within days you can have a check for thousands of dollars to use any way you decide.

Of course all you have to do to get the information, grant proposal templates, list of agencies that make grants available... is pay small shipping fee or pay a one time members fee in some cases up to $50 to gain access to the information from the websites members area.

If you follow this to good to be true ploy, you're going to be making a big mistake, and here's why!

Information for obtaining Government Grant money is available for Free from your local library or online. Therefore you should not pay for something that is FREE!

Second most grants that are given out are given out to other governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, states, cities, education institutions, research centers or charitable institutions that are going to use that money for the public good.

When the government gives out grant money it comes with a great deal of strings attached. If the receiver of the Government Grant money does not me the terms of the grant application they can face stiff monetary penalties and/or jail time for miss use of the money.

If your looking for grant money to start a business there are very few programs available for this. Normally such money is given out to those that are starting ventures in New Technology or looking to start business that will create guaranteed jobs in depressed areas.

When the Government does give grant money it post all available grants for FREE in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance or CFDA. The CFDA list over 1400 grants and assistance programs that are administered by some 50+ Federal Agencies. You can find this information online at cfda.gov or you can visit you major local library for a copy of the listing.

On this list you will find all the grants that are available, the agency administering the grant program, how much money is available, who can apply to receive the grant money and what are the requirements for eligibility.

All recipients of Government Grant Money must keep detailed records, must follow to the letter all the information provided on the grant application on how the money is to be spent, must meet Government Performance Standards and are subject to Government Audits.

As outlined above Government Grants are not Free money that's available to anyone just for the asking on the contrary, this money is available to other institutions and to a select few experts in the high technology arena. Don't fall prey to the popular belief that Government Grant Money is available to individuals seeking to obtain money from the Government.

Keep your money in your pocket and find something better to do with it than giving it to companies who's only priority is to fatten their wallets.
